“Exactly WHAT are you taking charge of, Teresa?”

you may be asking yourself.  Well, I’d have to agree that you have  a really good question there.  I am on a quest to take charge of everything in my life.  Even as I write that it sounds a bit egotistical.  I really don’t want to be the Big Fat Boss of everything.  However {said with raised eyebrows, a slight cough, and a long pause}, I am tired of feeling like my life is living me.  I frequently feel as if too many things in my life are under the control or influence of everything and everyone BUT me.  I am done with that.  I wash my hands of it.

So, as any captain of her own destiny would do, I need a place to document my plan.  A place to shout my victories to the world.  A place to review strategies that may not be working and revise my plan.  I have chosen this place.

Among my endeavors, I plan to include mastery of my immense personal budgeting skills, the loss of nearly 200 unwanted pounds, the resuscitation of an athlete that I know lives in this body somewhere, the trial of new and interesting foods, a renewal of all things spiritual, a more productive and fulfilling use of my time, development of my talents (you’ll probably see a lot of my attempts at photography here), etc.  This is a place for me to work out the “bugs” and “kinks” in my life as I strive to become the person God would have me be (something I am still figuring out).

Please feel free to join me.  I welcome your comments, even those that disagree with my own–unless they are mean-spirited (in which case you are NOT welcome to join me and you will be banned–Remember… I’m in charge here).

On a final note, I do have to say that while the title says “Teresa Takes Charge” I must point out that Teresa only does this with the help and tutelage of a loving Heavenly Father.  He truly knows what is best for me and I will strive every day to take charge in such a way that He would be pleased with my actions and proud to be my partner.

I love you Teresa. You’re a dear, and fun, and one of my examples.

But mostly, I love you because you crack me up, and I do dearly loved to be cracked up.
